March 24, 2026 8:00 AM

FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) announced the launch of FedEx SameDay Local, a delivery service offering two-hour and end-of-day delivery options for customers.

The service operates through a partnership with OneRail, a last-mile delivery company, connecting FedEx customers to a network of more than 1,000 delivery providers. Customers can select delivery windows at checkout, with orders automatically matched to appropriate vehicles and drivers.

FedEx SameDay Local provides real-time tracking from pickup to delivery, predictive estimated arrival times, and proof of delivery. The service uses artificial intelligence-driven routing to optimize delivery provider selection and performance.

"FedEx SameDay Local will provide our customers with a scaled solution to give the delivery options customers want, without adding complexity to their operations," said Jason Brenner, senior vice president of digital portfolio at FedEx.

The service includes 24/7 monitoring support and can handle large, oversized, or specialized deliveries. Integration is available through API connections and platform support.

According to research cited by FedEx, 96% of shoppers define fast delivery as same-day, and 80% want to see same-day options at checkout. The company's Future of Logistics Intelligence Report found that 36% of consumers prioritize reliable delivery windows.

FedEx reported annual revenue of $92 billion and employs more than 500,000 people globally. The Memphis-based company provides transportation, e-commerce, and business services worldwide.

The information is based on a FedEx press release statement.
