Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) received a $12.8 million contract to deliver Extensible Low-Profile Solar Array wings to Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) for a national security program, the company announced.

The solar array wings will be integrated with Moog's METEOR satellite bus to support a Low Earth Orbit mission for an undisclosed national security customer. This represents the first commercial sale of Redwire's ELSA solar array product.

Under the contract, Redwire will handle system design, manufacturing, testing, and flight hardware delivery of the ELSA wings. Moog has designated ELSA solar array wings as a standard component of their METEOR ESPA-Grande satellite bus platform.

"ELSA brings together Redwire's deep heritage and excellent solar array performance with a design optimized for volume production, enabling customers to field capable constellations faster and more efficiently," said Mike Gold, President of Redwire's Space business segment.

According to the company, ELSA provides up to 50% more power by volume compared to traditional solar arrays while maintaining competitive performance and pricing. The product is designed for customers requiring minimized solar array stowed volume and mass.

Redwire's Roll-Out Solar Arrays have achieved what the company describes as a 100% on-orbit success rate on missions including the International Space Station and NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test mission. The company is also manufacturing arrays for Thales Alenia Space's Space INSPIRE satellites and Blue Origin's Blue Ring platform.

Jacksonville, Florida-based Redwire employs approximately 1,400 people across North America and Europe, focusing on space and defense technology solutions.
