Akamai adds AI features to Guardicore network segmentation tool
Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) announced new artificial intelligence capabilities for its Guardicore Segmentation security product on March 24. The enhanced tool uses AI to analyze application behavior and automatically generate security policies for network segmentation.
The updated Guardicore Segmentation includes continuous discovery features for real-time network understanding and AI-powered application analysis that creates segmentation policies automatically. The system can simulate policy impacts and validate readiness before enforcement to reduce operational risks.
Additional features include proof-driven enforcement capabilities designed to reduce attack surfaces and continuous risk containment that correlates threat detection with segmentation enforcement. The product also offers delegated workflows through an App Owner Portal to engage application owners in the approval process.
"We analyzed more than 500 segmentation projects to pinpoint common bottlenecks and identify what drives success across technology, processes, and human behavior," said Ofer Wolf, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Security with Akamai.
The segmentation tool targets organizations with hybrid IT, cloud, Kubernetes, and AI workloads seeking to reduce lateral movement risks and ransomware impact while meeting compliance requirements. Akamai developed the enhancements based on analysis of segmentation project bottlenecks and success factors.
The company will demonstrate the product at RSA Conference at booth N-6245. Information about the announcement comes from an Akamai press release.
