Palo Alto Networks launches Prisma AIRS 3.0 for AI agent security

March 24, 2026 4:20 AM

Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) launched Prisma AIRS 3.0 on March 23, 2026, a platform designed to secure autonomous AI agents throughout their operational lifecycle. The cybersecurity company said the platform addresses security challenges as organizations deploy AI agents that can execute tasks independently.

The platform provides three main capabilities: discovery of AI agents across cloud environments, SaaS platforms and local endpoints; continuous risk assessment through Agent Artifact Security mapping and AI Red Teaming simulations; and real-time protection via an AI Agent Gateway currently in limited preview.

"Agentic AI represents a massive leap forward, moving beyond simple conversation to autonomous action that will redefine productivity," said Anand Oswal, Executive Vice President of AI & Network Security at Palo Alto Networks. "But this shift from 'AI that talks' to 'AI that acts' introduces new risks - from unmanaged agentic identities to unpredictable runtime behaviors."

The company said Prisma AIRS 3.0 will incorporate Agentic Endpoint Security following the completion of its proposed acquisition of Koi, which would provide visibility for AI endpoint applications including coding agents.

Harpreet Sidhu, Global Lead at Accenture Cybersecurity, said the platform helps organizations understand where agents operate, what data they access, and how they behave after deployment. Accenture plans to collaborate with Palo Alto Networks to help enterprises implement security measures for AI agent scaling.

The announcement comes as enterprises increasingly deploy AI systems capable of autonomous decision-making and task execution, creating new cybersecurity considerations beyond traditional AI monitoring approaches.
