Palo Alto Networks enhances Prisma AIRS platform for AI security
Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) announced enhancements to its Prisma AIRS platform designed to secure autonomous AI agents throughout their operational lifecycle. The cybersecurity company said the updated platform provides end-to-end security for what it terms "agentic AI" deployments.
The enhanced Prisma AIRS platform includes three core capabilities: assessment of AI agents through continuous monitoring and risk evaluation, protection of sensitive data by securing autonomous processes, and governance through a unified security platform that centralizes enforcement and automates risk remediation.
"We are witnessing a pivot where AI is moving from an assistant to an actor, and that requires a new blueprint for security," said Anand Oswal, Executive Vice President at Palo Alto Networks. "Prisma AIRS goes beyond just another layer of defense. It is the foundational control plane for the agentic enterprise."
The company stated that as autonomous agents increasingly access databases and execute workflows independently, new security vulnerabilities emerge without proper safeguards. The platform aims to secure both the outputs and actions of AI systems across the AI supply chain.
Palo Alto Networks indicated the platform integrates with ServiceNow AI Control Tower to provide organizations with centralized visibility and governance of AI agents through ServiceNow's workflow management system.
The announcement was made at the company's "Tomorrow Secured" event. Information about the enhancements was provided through a company press release.
