MetLife hires Jordan Canter as head of federal government affairs

March 23, 2026 4:15 PM

MetLife Inc. (NYSE: MET) appointed Jordan Canter as head of Federal Government Affairs and Regulatory Policy, effective April 20. Canter will oversee the company's federal government affairs and global regulatory policy while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support business priorities.

Based in Washington, D.C., Canter will report to Susan Greenwell, senior vice president and head of Global Government Affairs. The appointment comes as MetLife seeks to strengthen coordination between federal advocacy and regulatory policy functions.

Canter joins MetLife from Allstate, where she held senior positions in federal government affairs and public policy. In those roles, she led initiatives addressing financial services and insurance matters while working with Congress, federal agencies, and industry stakeholders on legislative and regulatory outcomes.

Prior to joining Allstate in 2022, Canter worked in government affairs and regulatory policy at The Hartford and Bank Policy Institute, formerly known as the Financial Services Roundtable. She holds a bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College.

The information was disclosed in a company press release statement.
