Century Aluminum promotes Levi Chaffin to senior VP of operations
Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ: CENX) announced the promotion of Levi Chaffin to Senior Vice President of Operations, Americas, according to a company statement. Chaffin will continue overseeing Century's operations in the United States and Jamaica.
Chief Executive Officer Jesse Gary stated that Chaffin has driven improvements in operational performance and capital discipline. In his new role, Chaffin will focus on safe production, improved efficiency, and workforce development while joining the senior leadership team to contribute to corporate strategy.
Chaffin previously served as Plant Manager at Century's Sebree smelter, where he directed operations for approximately 650 employees. He holds a Manufacturing Engineering degree from the University of Louisville and a Certificate of Management Excellence from Harvard Business School Executive Education.
Chaffin maintains several professional certifications, including Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Black Belt, and Behavioral Leadership certification.
Century Aluminum operates primary aluminum smelting facilities in the United States and Iceland. The company is the majority owner and managing partner of the Jamalco alumina refinery in Jamaica, with corporate headquarters in Chicago.
