Fanatec extends Formula 1 partnership with new multi-year licensing deal
Fanatec, a brand of CORSAIR (NASDAQ: CRSR), announced a new multi-year global licensing partnership with Formula 1, extending a relationship that began in 2018. The agreement covers the development of officially licensed sim racing hardware and products for motorsport enthusiasts.
Under the partnership, Fanatec will design F1-licensed sim racing equipment including steering wheels and limited-edition products that replicate technology used in Formula 1 racing. The company will continue as Official Sponsor of the F1 Sim Racing World Championship, providing hardware support to competing teams and drivers.
The F1 Sim Racing World Championship will launch at DreamHack Birmingham from March 27-29, 2026, before moving to Formula 1's Media and Technology Centre at Biggin Hill. The championship features a 12-round calendar with a $750,000 prize pool, with rounds broadcast live on Formula 1's digital platforms.
Fanatec hardware will be used across all official F1 Sim Racing live events and will continue to be featured in F1 Fan Zones at Grand Prix events, providing racing experiences for visitors.
"Fanatec has played a pivotal role in elevating the competitive standard of our F1 Sim Racing ecosystem," said Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1.
CORSAIR CEO Thi La stated that the partnership allows the companies to "keep raising standards for competitive play and fan engagement, bringing officially licensed F1 products to more players and more events around the world."
The announcement was made through a press release from CORSAIR, which acquired Fanatec in 2024.
