Draganfly and Palladyne AI complete swarm drone integration milestone
Draganfly Inc. (NASDAQ: DPRO) and Palladyne AI Corp. (NASDAQ: PDYN) announced the completion of a key integration milestone for autonomous drone swarm capabilities. The companies successfully tested Palladyne AI's SwarmOS platform across Draganfly's drone components and validated the system through flight simulation.
The integrated solution uses Palladyne AI's Decentralized Edge Collaborative Autonomy approach, enabling drones to operate independently without continuous communications or centralized command structures. The system is designed to allow drones to perceive, make decisions, and collaborate in real-time while adapting to evolving mission conditions including degraded communications or asset loss.
"This milestone is a meaningful proof point," said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly. "What excites us about this joint effort is the ability to enable true autonomous collaboration where systems that can think, adapt, and operate together in real time."
Ben Wolff, President and CEO of Palladyne AI, stated that completing the SwarmOS integration and flight simulation validation represents a significant step forward. "SwarmOS isn't about pre-programmed drones flying in formation, it's about giving every drone in the swarm the intelligence to read its environment, collaborate with its teammates, and make the right decision in milliseconds."
The milestone aligns with increasing demand from U.S. defense initiatives for large-scale autonomous systems capable of operating in contested environments where traditional communications may be limited. Draganfly has recent engagements supporting U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command and active deployments across intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, logistics, and tactical drone platforms.
The information is based on a press release statement from the companies.
