Verde Clean Fuels names George Burdette as CEO
Verde Clean Fuels Inc. (NASDAQ: VGAS) appointed George Burdette as chief executive officer on March 20, 2026, according to a company statement.
Burdette will retain his current position as chief financial officer, a role he has held since October 2024. He succeeds Ernest Miller, who resigned the same day to pursue another opportunity and will remain with the company as a senior advisor.
The company stated Miller's resignation was not due to any disagreement with the company regarding operations, policies or practices.
Burdette brings more than 20 years of experience in financial and corporate development roles. Before joining Verde Clean Fuels, he served as CFO of Arbor Renewable Gas, a private equity-owned renewable fuels platform. He previously held the CFO position at Itafos (TSX-V: IFOS), a phosphate fertilizer producer.
Earlier in his career, Burdette worked as head of project finance at First Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: FSLR), where he led transactions including the sale of 8point3 Energy Partners LP (NASDAQ: CAFD). The company reported he has executed more than $8 billion in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financings throughout his career.
The board stated there are no arrangements between Burdette and other parties related to his selection as CEO, and no family relationships exist between him and other company directors or executive officers.
