Aerovironment receives $135 million in Army contract wins

Investing.com - Aerovironment Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) received two contracts from the U.S. Army totaling approximately $135 million for reconnaissance systems and related equipment, the Department of Defense announced March 12, 2026.

The larger contract, valued at $117,306,232, covers procurement and delivery of P550 Long Range Reconnaissance systems under a firm-fixed-price agreement. Army Contracting Command in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, awarded the contract, which carries an estimated completion date of July 23, 2026.

The second contract, worth $17,583,318, requires Aerovironment to provide Red Dragon systems, battery chargers, ground control stations, launchers, critical part kits, training materials, and field service representative support. The Army solicited bids via the internet and received one response.

Both contracts will determine work locations and funding with each individual order. The Simi Valley, California-based company operates under contracting activity numbers W58RGZ-26-F-0238 and W58RGZ-26-F-0206 for the respective awards.

The second contract has an estimated completion date of April 8, 2026. Army Contracting Command in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, serves as the contracting activity for both agreements.
