Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX) appointed Dennis Durkin as an independent director to its board of directors, according to a company statement. Durkin will serve on the Audit and Compliance Committee and the Leadership Development and Compensation Committee.

Durkin brings nearly 30 years of experience in technology and video game sectors. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and President of Emerging Businesses at Activision Blizzard. Prior to that role, he held multiple positions at Microsoft Corporation, including Corporate Vice President and Chief Operating & Financial Officer of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, which encompassed Xbox, Xbox Live, and the games business.

"Dennis has spent his career navigating the complexities of the global gaming market, and his expertise will be a significant asset as we continue to build out our integrated platform," said David Baszucki, founder and CEO of Roblox.

During his tenure at Microsoft, Durkin also worked in corporate development and strategy, overseeing pan-European activity. He currently serves on the boards of webAI, Oura Health, and On Holding AG, where he chairs the Audit Committee.

Durkin holds a bachelor's degree in government from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard University. The appointment expands Roblox's board as the gaming platform company continues its growth trajectory in the immersive gaming and creation platform market.
