GitLab expands AI access with credit-based pricing model
GitLab Inc. released version 18.10, expanding access to its artificial intelligence capabilities through a new credit-based pricing system and making automated code reviews more affordable.
Organizations using GitLab.com's free tier can now access the GitLab Duo Agent Platform by purchasing monthly GitLab Credits commitments. The credits are shared across groups, providing team members access to AI features without per-seat costs.
The company introduced flat pricing for automated code reviews at $0.25 per review, equivalent to four code reviews per GitLab Credit. The Agentic Code Review feature automatically reviews merge requests across projects with full repository context, pipeline information, and security policies.
GitLab made its SAST false positive detection feature generally available for Ultimate customers using the Duo Agent Platform. The system analyzes new critical and high-severity security findings after each scan, assigns false positive likelihood scores, and displays assessments in the Vulnerability Report.
The GitLab Credits dashboard allows group owners to monitor which agents and workflows consume credits, connecting AI activity to software delivery tasks and enabling cost tracking across teams.
"Development teams are shipping more code faster than ever, and the AI automation that keeps code secure and ensures it gets safely deployed has to keep pace," said Manav Khurana, chief product and marketing officer at GitLab.
GitLab reported more than 50 million registered users and stated that 50% of Fortune 100 companies use its platform. The company describes itself as an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps.
