Accenture launches AI-powered cybersecurity service with Microsoft
Accenture (NYSE: ACN) announced new assets and capabilities for its Adaptive Managed Extended Detection and Response service, designed to integrate with Microsoft Security platforms. The service incorporates AI-driven cybersecurity solutions developed through collaboration between Accenture, Microsoft, and their joint venture Avanade.
According to Accenture's State of Cybersecurity Resilience research, 74% of CEOs express concern about their organization's ability to minimize cyberattacks. The new service aims to address these concerns through automated threat detection and response capabilities.
The Accenture MxDR for Microsoft includes several components: unified security data management that integrates Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and other security tools; AI agents that work with Microsoft Security AI agents for threat identification; a centralized content library containing detection mechanisms and response workflows; and acceleration packages for implementing Microsoft Security capabilities.
"Cybersecurity teams have long faced significant challenges in managing massive datasets, and scaling security management tools and overcoming staffing resource limitations," said Harpreet Sidhu, global lead for Accenture Cybersecurity.
Steve Dispensa, Corporate Vice President of Security Solution Area at Microsoft, stated that the collaboration combines "Accenture's managed services and security expertise with the breadth of Microsoft's AI-powered platform to help organizations reduce complexity, strengthen defenses and scale resilience."
The service utilizes Microsoft's new Sentinel data lake for threat detection and incorporates AI-powered analytics for investigation and response. The content library includes threat hunting data models, dashboards, and reports that can be deployed across enterprise systems.
