Udemy previews AI solution Altus for workforce skills development
Udemy (NASDAQ: UDMY) announced the preview of Altus, an artificial intelligence solution designed to identify skills gaps and develop workforce capabilities. The company introduced the system at its annual PowerUp event.
Altus consists of specialized agents intended to help organizations reduce time-to-proficiency, improve technology adoption, and measure return on investment for reskilling programs. The solution aims to connect business strategy with skills development initiatives.
"Altus represents a major step forward in using AI to reskill the global workforce, and advances our ambition to become the leading AI-powered skilling platform for future-ready workplace," said Hugo Sarrazin, Udemy's president and CEO.
The system is designed to diagnose skill gaps within business priorities, create individualized learning experiences through a personalization engine, integrate with enterprise systems, validate skills through performance-based assessments, and monitor progress while providing real-time recommendations.
According to the company's press release, organizations face challenges in executing strategic initiatives including cloud modernization and digital transformation while struggling to identify capability gaps and align learning investments with business priorities.
Udemy plans to begin rolling out early access to Altus in the coming months, with broader availability expected in the second half of the year. The San Francisco-based company provides skills development platforms to organizations including Ericsson, Samsung SDS America, Tata Consultancy Services, The World Bank, and Volkswagen.
