Gevo reports $5 million revenue from sustainable racing fuel sales

March 19, 2026 9:00 AM

Gevo Inc. (NASDAQ: GEVO) reported approximately $5 million in revenue for the year ended December 31, 2025, from producing and selling specialty racing fuel blendstock, according to a company statement.

The Colorado-based renewable fuels company said it produced patented racing fuel blendstock to meet demand for low-carbon advanced renewable fuels in motorsports. The revenue came from sales of the proprietary specialty fuel designed for high-performance racing applications.

"Motorsports push fuels to their limits, demanding exceptional performance under extreme conditions," said Paul Bloom, president of Gevo. "At Gevo, we are delivering renewable fuel solutions that meet our customers' needs for performance and sustainability."

Several major racing series have adopted or announced transitions to sustainable fuels. Formula One launched its 2026 season using 100% advanced sustainable fuel, while MotoGP continues transitioning toward 100% non-fossil fuel by 2027. IndyCar maintains its commitment to renewable fuels, and NASCAR announced the use of zero-carbon bioethanol as a blending component.

Gevo's racing fuel technology converts renewable feedstocks into high-octane hydrocarbon blendstocks for demanding engine applications. The company stated it believes the specialty fuel market, including naphtha blending, aviation, performance automotive, and marine fuels, could exceed several billion dollars annually.

The company operates facilities including an ethanol plant with carbon capture capabilities, a renewable natural gas facility, and what it describes as the world's first production facility for specialty alcohol-to-jet fuels operating since 2012. Gevo is developing a large-scale alcohol-to-jet facility in North Dakota.
