Home Depot launches project management tools for professional customers
Home Depot Inc. (NYSE: HD) announced the expansion of its digital platform for professional contractors, adding project management capabilities and artificial intelligence tools to its Pro Xtra loyalty program.
The Atlanta-based retailer introduced several new features designed for contractors, renovators and builders. The updated platform includes project planning tools that allow professionals to organize jobs with delivery preferences and inventory visibility across Home Depot's product assortment.
A new Material List Builder AI tool interprets project requirements to generate material lists, according to the company's press release. The system integrates with the project planning feature to help contractors prepare job estimates.
The platform also offers real-time delivery tracking for materials such as concrete, drywall and lumber. Users can schedule deliveries from multiple locations and manage complex orders through a single interface.
Additional features include enhanced purchase history organization, shared access permissions for team members, and direct collaboration with Home Depot Pro staff within the digital workspace.
"Pros run their business from the truck, the jobsite and our aisles – not a desk," said Mike Rowe, executive vice president of Pro for Home Depot. "Our upgraded Pro site experience provides tools that work the way Pros do, by integrating project management into their mobile workspace to help them oversee entire jobs, not just individual purchases."
The digital workspace is available at no cost to Pro Xtra members through Home Depot's website and mobile application. The platform provides personalized pricing and rewards for professional customers.
Home Depot will host Pro Xtra Week from March 23-29, featuring exclusive savings and vendor demonstrations for professional customers. The company operates 2,359 retail stores and over 1,250 SRS locations across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
