F5 partners with Skyfire to enable verified AI agent commerce
F5, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV) announced a technology partnership with Skyfire to integrate the Know Your Agent protocol into F5's bot defense platform. The integration aims to help enterprises distinguish between legitimate AI agents and malicious automated traffic.
The partnership brings Skyfire's KYA protocol to the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform, allowing merchants to identify verified AI agents while maintaining security against harmful bots. The system uses standard JSON Web Tokens compatible with existing OAuth2, HTTP, and JWKS infrastructure.
F5 customers using the integrated solution will be able to enhance verification of AI agent traffic, gain visibility into agent identity, enable agentic commerce through tokenized payment credentials, and monetize AI-driven traffic by linking agent requests to accountable parties.
"Merchants need the ability to distinguish between a malicious agent or bot and a verified AI agent acting on behalf of a real customer," said John Maddison, Chief Marketing Officer at F5.
Amir Sarhangi, CEO and co-founder of Skyfire, stated that AI agents have been "locked out by security measures designed for a human-only web" and the partnership enables verified agents to become participants in the digital economy.
The Skyfire integration with F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense will be available by April 30, 2026. F5 customers will access Skyfire-verified agent traffic through the F5 Distributed Cloud Console. The integration is designed to work within existing technology stacks without requiring re-platforming.
