Snowflake launches Project SnowWork AI platform in research preview

March 18, 2026 9:00 AM

Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW) announced the research preview of Project SnowWork, an autonomous enterprise AI platform designed to help business users complete multi-step tasks through conversational prompts, according to a company statement.

The platform aims to handle complex workflows by orchestrating planning, analysis, and execution directly on business users' desktops. Project SnowWork can autonomously execute tasks such as building forecast presentations, creating spreadsheets to identify customer churn risks, or uncovering supply chain bottlenecks.

"Project SnowWork looks to put secure, data-grounded AI agents on every surface, so business leaders and operators can move from question to action instantly," said Sridhar Ramaswamy, Chief Executive Officer of Snowflake.

The platform launches in research preview to a limited set of customers. Key capabilities include pre-built, persona-specific skills for roles like finance, sales, marketing, and operations, along with multi-step task completion that can query data, apply analysis, and generate structured deliverables within a single interaction.

Project SnowWork operates on Snowflake's enterprise data platform and enforces the company's role-based access controls, masking policies, and data governance rules. The platform is built to work with governed metrics, shared business definitions, and cross-cloud interoperability.

The announcement extends Snowflake's existing AI portfolio, which includes Snowflake Intelligence for enterprise insights and Cortex Code for data-native AI coding. Project SnowWork is designed to move beyond analytical capabilities to autonomous task execution using enterprise data.
