Baker Hughes secures 60-month Petrobras turbomachinery service contract
Baker Hughes (NASDAQ: BKR) announced a 60-month service agreement with Petrobras to maintain critical turbomachinery equipment for Brazil's offshore operations and a major refinery. The contract was signed in February following an open tender process.
The agreement covers maintenance, repairs and engineering advisory services for up to 64 aeroderivative gas turbines across approximately 19 floating production, storage and offloading vessels in Brazil's offshore sector and at the Replan refinery in Paulínia, São Paulo. The turbines include Baker Hughes LM2500 and LM6000 models.
Services under the contract began in February 2026 and will be delivered through Baker Hughes' service center in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. The facility was established in 2010 and employs local personnel to provide disassembly and assembly services.
"This strategic agreement reinforces our long-standing relationship with Petrobras and our enduring commitment to Brazil's energy sector," said Maria Claudia Borras, Baker Hughes Chief Growth and Experience Officer and interim Executive Vice President of Industrial & Energy Technology.
Baker Hughes plans to expand the Petrópolis center's capacity and capabilities, including the addition of advanced grinding capabilities. The company stated the expansion will strengthen the local supply chain and create employment opportunities.
The Houston-based energy technology company has operated in Brazil for several decades and aligns its strategy with government local content requirements. Baker Hughes conducts business in over 120 countries and provides solutions to energy and industrial customers worldwide.
