RPX Corporation announced the appointment of Oliver Scherenberg as Vice President to lead the company's European expansion efforts. Scherenberg will represent RPX's business interests for growth in the European market.

"The patent litigation landscape in Europe is dynamic and increasingly impactful in global patent policy and patent litigation strategy," said RPX CEO Dan McCurdy. "Our expanded efforts in Europe will greatly assist us in better serving our nearly 300 member companies."

Prior to joining RPX, Scherenberg served as General Counsel at Sisvel, a patent pool administrator, where he drafted and negotiated agreements for patent pools and joint licensing programs. He has over 20 years of experience as an attorney in private practice, starting in 2005 at Freshfields and later becoming an equity partner at German intellectual property firm PREU BOHLIG.

Scherenberg has been recognized by IAM Patent 1000, MIP IP Stars, IAM Strategy 300, and Best Lawyers for his intellectual property work. He holds a Doctor of Laws degree from the Technical University of Dresden and studied law at universities in Germany and France.
