LULU names Chip Bergh to board as director transition continues
lululemon athletica inc. (NASDAQ: LULU) appointed Chip Bergh, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Levi Strauss & Co., to its board of directors effective immediately, the company announced.
Bergh served as CEO of Levi Strauss from 2011 to 2024 and spent 28 years at Procter & Gamble before that. He currently serves as non-executive chair of HP Inc.'s board and sits on the boards of e.l.f. Beauty Inc. and Pinterest Inc.
The appointment represents the fifth new independent director added to lululemon's board in the past five years. Bergh will stand for election at the company's 2026 annual shareholder meeting, replacing David Mussafer, who will not seek re-election at the end of his current three-year term.
Mussafer joined lululemon's board in 2005 and served as co-chairman from 2014 to 2017. Executive Chair Marti Morfitt thanked Mussafer for his contributions to the company's growth and global expansion.
The board addition comes as lululemon continues searching for a new CEO. The company has been operating with interim co-CEOs Meghan Frank and André Maestrini.
Bergh holds a bachelor's degree in international affairs from Lafayette College and serves as a Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. He previously served on the board of VF Corporation.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
