Royalty Pharma hires Bank of America healthcare banking executive
Royalty Pharma plc (NASDAQ: RPRX) announced that Greg Butz will join the company as Executive Vice President, Partnering & Investments, effective June 2026. Butz previously served as Global Co-Head of Healthcare Investment Banking at Bank of America.
The appointment is part of a leadership team expansion at the biopharmaceutical royalty company. Chris Hite will transition to the role of Chairman, Partnering & Investments, where he will focus on expanding Royalty Pharma's global relationship network.
At Bank of America, Butz worked with public and private biopharmaceutical companies on capital raising and strategic advisory transactions. He previously held roles as Co-Head North American Healthcare Investment Banking and Head of Life Sciences Investment Banking at the bank. Butz graduated from Williams College and received an MBA from Dartmouth.
Chief Executive Officer Pablo Legorreta stated that Butz brings experience in advising healthcare companies on capital raising, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. The company recently added Ken Sun as Head of Asia as part of its leadership expansion.
Founded in 1996, Royalty Pharma describes itself as the largest buyer of biopharmaceutical royalties. The company's portfolio includes royalties on more than 35 commercial products and 19 development-stage product candidates, according to the press release statement.
