Cohu receives second multi-unit order for AI datacenter processor testing

March 17, 2026 4:00 PM

Cohu Inc. (NASDAQ: COHU) announced that a U.S. semiconductor manufacturer and foundry services company placed a multi-unit order for the company's Eclipse platform to support development and manufacturing of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence datacenter processors.

The order represents the second customer to adopt the Eclipse platform, according to the press release. The Eclipse platform is designed to test AI datacenter devices including GPUs, CPUs, custom AI accelerators, and ASICs by providing high socket force, thermal control, and test coverage for ultra-large form factor packages.

"Together these orders underscore the increasing importance of scalable, thermally precise test architectures as AI and HPC processors continue to push the limits of power density and performance," said Luis Müller, Cohu President and CEO. "We are increasingly confident in the success of the Eclipse platform and estimate Cohu can deliver revenue toward the upper end of our internal projection of approximately $65 million to $80 million from the HPC segment this year."

The San Diego-based company supplies equipment and services for semiconductor manufacturing yield and productivity optimization. The Eclipse platform is field upgradable and engineered to address rising power and thermal demands of current and next-generation processors.

Cohu also offers the Neon inspection platform, which provides AI-enabled inspection and metrology for advanced packages used in AI and HPC applications. The company was founded in 1947 and provides test, automation, inspection and metrology products to the semiconductor industry.
