E-ONE invests $23.5 million to expand fire truck production capacity
E-ONE announced a $23.5 million investment in its Ocala, Florida manufacturing facility to expand aerial production capacity by 35 percent, according to a company press release.
The fire apparatus manufacturer, owned by Terex Corporation (NYSE: TEX), said the investment aims to reduce lead times for fire departments ordering emergency equipment. The expansion will enhance the company's ability to meet growing demand for ladder trucks and aerial firefighting platforms across North America.
"This investment reflects E-ONE's unwavering commitment to the firefighting industry," said Mike Virnig, President of Specialty Vehicles segment at Terex Corporation. "Every day of reduced delivery time means people and property are better protected, and that drives our continuous improvement in manufacturing excellence."
The project includes expanding existing assembly, fabrication and paint facilities, along with new construction to support ladder manufacturing operations. The company plans to double the size of its paint operations and establish a dedicated ladder manufacturing facility to address current production constraints.
Additional improvements include construction of a new aerial body assembly facility and a second test pit at the Ocala campus to eliminate bottlenecks and improve product flow across all E-ONE product lines.
E-ONE plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony at its Ocala facility within the next few months, with attendance from state and local legislators, fire chiefs, dealers and community leaders.
The company has manufactured fire apparatus and emergency vehicles for over 50 years from its headquarters in Ocala, Florida.
