Lumen Technologies names General Chilton as next board chair, adds new director
Lumen Technologies Inc. (NYSE: LUMN) announced board leadership changes and executive role expansions as part of a planned succession process.
Board Chair Mike Glenn and Director Hal Stanley Jones will retire and not stand for re-election at the company's 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. General Kevin P. Chilton, who has served on Lumen's board since 2017, will succeed Glenn as board chair following the meeting.
The company also nominated Michael Collins, a partner at Bain & Company, for election to the board at the 2026 annual meeting, subject to shareholder approval. Collins brings over 30 years of experience advising companies on growth strategy and operational transformations.
General Chilton retired from the U.S. Air Force as a four-star General in 2011 after a 34-year military career. He previously served as Commander of U.S. Strategic Command and Air Force Space Command, and as a NASA astronaut on three space shuttle flights. At Lumen, he has chaired the Risk and Security Committee since 2018.
Collins currently oversees Bain & Company's specialized consulting businesses and previously served as the firm's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He serves on the board of Jacobs Solutions Inc.
Lumen also announced expanded leadership roles within the company. Chris Stansbury assumed the additional title of President while continuing as Chief Financial Officer. Kye Prigg became Chief Commercial Operations Officer, adding the Mass Markets business to his Enterprise Operations responsibilities. Ana White was named Chief People & AI Enablement Officer with expanded responsibility for the company's internal AI transformation.
"These leadership expansions position us to execute with speed, scale and clarity as we accelerate the growth phase of our transformation," said CEO Kate Johnson.
