QuickLogic secures mid-6-figure contract for Intel 18A eFPGA IP
QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK) announced a mid-six-figure contract to implement architectural enhancements for its embedded FPGA Hard IP in a customer ASIC based on Intel 18A technology.
The San Jose-based company said the enhancements reduce power consumption, increase performance and decrease silicon area requirements for high-density eFPGA cores. According to the press release, these improvements are extensible to all advanced fabrication nodes.
QuickLogic developed the architectural enhancements under contract in 2025. The company develops embedded FPGA Hard IP, user tools and ruggedized discrete FPGAs.
"QuickLogic is committed to working closely with its lead customers to identify and implement improvements that are essential to our mutual success," said Andy Jaros, VP of IP Sales at QuickLogic.
Jaros stated that the improvements position the company to address requirements for high density eFPGA cores in ASICs and system-on-chips, as well as large discrete FPGA requirements. He said the enhancements also improve the company's ability to address cost-sensitive applications.
The contract involves implementing the eFPGA Hard IP enhancements in a new customer ASIC utilizing Intel's 18A manufacturing process technology.
