Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CWST) announced that Christopher A. Rains has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, according to a press release statement.

Rains will oversee sales, marketing, and customer care functions at the Vermont-based waste management company. He brings more than 20 years of commercial and operational leadership experience across various organizations.

Before joining Casella, Rains served as Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Sales Excellence at Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, where he led revenue growth initiatives across more than 20 portfolio companies. He previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Keter Environmental Services, overseeing a $650 million operating platform and more than 450 employees.

Rains spent over 20 years at Republic Services, Inc., holding senior leadership roles including Vice President of Customer Experience, Area President, and Region Vice President of Sales. He also served as Vice President of Sales at United States Steel Corporation, where he managed commercial strategy and business development.

Rains holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Delta State University and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified through Villanova University.

Casella Waste Systems provides waste collection, disposal, recycling and resource management services to customers primarily in the eastern United States.
