Cellebrite launches Genesis AI tool for digital investigations

March 16, 2026 8:30 AM

Cellebrite (NASDAQ: CLBT) announced the launch of Genesis, an artificial intelligence-powered investigative tool designed for law enforcement and security agencies. The company introduced early access to the product on March 16.

Genesis analyzes digital evidence including mobile phone extractions, call detail records, documents, messages, images and video content. The tool converts investigative tasks that previously required weeks into processes completed in minutes, according to the company's press release.

A counter-terrorism detective from an Australian police agency provided early feedback on the system. "After a targeted terrorist attack, we gained early access to Genesis and immediately began pushing its boundaries," the detective stated. "We identified evidence and generated leads of a quality and rate that we would otherwise have expected from dozens of dedicated, highly experienced analysts."

Thomas E. Hogan, Cellebrite's chief executive officer, said the tool addresses resource constraints facing public safety agencies. "Public safety agencies are being asked to do more with less. Budgets are under pressure, recruiting investigators is harder than ever and digital evidence volumes continue to grow," Hogan stated.

The system operates through a conversational interface and can be deployed independently or alongside existing Cellebrite solutions. Genesis maintains data security standards including compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology framework and Service Organization Control 2 requirements.

Cellebrite's technology supports approximately 3 million investigations annually across more than 7,000 customer organizations worldwide. The company's solutions are used in cases involving child exploitation, terrorism, human trafficking, financial crimes and other criminal investigations.

Genesis is currently available through early access programs. The company will demonstrate the technology at C2C, its annual user conference.
