Portillo's names Jennifer Pecoraro-Striepling as chief development officer
Portillo's Inc. (NASDAQ: PTLO) appointed Jennifer Pecoraro-Striepling as chief development officer, the Chicago-based restaurant chain announced March 16.
Pecoraro-Striepling will oversee restaurant development strategy, including real estate selection, prototype design and construction as the company expands its footprint.
"Jennifer brings the experience, strategic vision, and people-first leadership we need as we continue to expand Portillo's into new and key markets," said Brett Patterson, Portillo's president and CEO.
The new chief development officer brings over 25 years of experience in restaurant development and multi-unit restaurant growth. She previously served as chief development officer at Miller's Ale House, where she managed enterprise development and market expansion strategies. Her career includes leadership positions at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux, Papa Johns, Bloomin' Brands, Kohl's and Darden Restaurants.
At Miller's Ale House, Pecoraro-Striepling developed multiple restaurant prototypes and introduced smaller, more efficient footprints while improving operational flow and reducing construction costs and development timelines.
"Portillo's is a brand I grew up with in Chicago, so stepping into this role is both professionally exciting and personally meaningful," Pecoraro-Striepling said.
Portillo's operates more than 100 restaurants across 11 states, known for Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs and chocolate cake. The company uses a company-owned restaurant model that includes dine-in, drive-thru, takeout and delivery services.
