Keysight introduces 224G test solutions for 1.6T optical networks

March 13, 2026 11:00 AM

Keysight Technologies Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) has introduced new 224G test solutions designed to support validation and manufacturing of next-generation electrical and optical interconnects for AI data centers. The company announced the expansion of its 1.6T end-to-end portfolio to address growing challenges in network infrastructure development.

The new portfolio includes three main components: the N1095DJCA 224G DCA Optical Transmitter Conformance Test Software for IEEE 802.3dj, the N1091DJPA 224G DCA Electrical Transmitter Test Software for IEEE 802.3dj, and the N1096 multimode DCA-M sampling oscilloscope.

The optical transmitter software provides IEEE 802.3dj-aligned testing capabilities and supports the N1093 DCA-M sampling oscilloscopes. It measures optical transmitter quality metrics including Transmitter and Dispersion Eye Closure Quaternary (TDECQ) and TDECQ Codeword Error Ratio (TDECQ-CER) across research and pre-production environments.

The electrical transmitter software is designed for research and development debug environments, enabling engineers to characterize transmitter behavior using half-rate clocking setups. The solution works with Keysight's DCA-X wide-bandwidth sampling oscilloscope and DCA-M clock recovery modules.

The N1096 multimode DCA-M oscilloscope offers 224 Gbps or 112 GBd PAM4 measurement capability for multimode short-reach applications in AI infrastructure development.

"As the industry moves rapidly toward 224G and 1.6T interconnects, customers need test solutions that span electrical and optical domains while scaling seamlessly from R&D to manufacturing," said Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight.

Keysight will demonstrate the expanded 224G portfolio at OFC 2026, showing end-to-end electrical and optical test workflows for next-generation data center interconnects.
