Rivian unveils R2 electric SUV pricing and trim details
Rivian (NASDAQ: RIVN) announced pricing and trim specifications for its R2 electric SUV, with deliveries scheduled to begin in spring 2026. The mid-size electric vehicle will start at $48,490 for the Standard trim, positioning it below the company's existing R1 lineup.
The R2 lineup includes three main configurations. The Performance trim, starting at $57,990 with Launch Package, delivers 656 horsepower and accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds with an EPA-estimated range of 330 miles. The Premium trim starts at $53,990, offering 450 horsepower and the same 330-mile range. The Standard trim begins at $48,490 with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration producing 350 horsepower and providing up to 345 miles of estimated range.
Rivian plans a phased rollout, with Performance models available in spring 2026, Premium configurations in late 2026, and Standard models in 2027. An additional Standard variant will arrive in late 2027 starting around $45,000.
The R2 features native NACS charging port compatibility with Tesla's Supercharger network and other charging networks through CCS adapter support. The vehicle includes up to 90.1 cubic feet of total storage space and maintains 9.6 inches of ground clearance for off-road capability.
Technology features include Rivian's Autonomy+ driver assistance system, available as a $49.99 monthly subscription or $2,500 one-time purchase. The vehicle incorporates 200 TOPS of AI computing power and includes haptic steering wheel controls and dual digital displays.
Reservations are open with a $100 refundable deposit. The company will display the R2 at SXSW 2026 from March 13-18.
