Marvell expands 1.6T optical DSP platform with four new products
Marvell Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVL) announced an expansion of its 1.6T optical digital signal processor platform portfolio with four new products designed for AI data center connectivity.
The company introduced Ara T, described as the first 8x200G transmit-retimed optics DSP; Ara X, the first 1.6T DSP with advanced link reliability capabilities; Petra, the first 3nm 8x100G to 4x200G gearbox; and Aquila M, the first O-band-optimized coherent-lite optical DSP with integrated media access control security.
Marvell states it was the first to introduce 200G/lane 1.6T DSPs in 5nm with its Nova platform in 2023, followed by the 3nm 1.6T Ara platform in 2024. The company reports that Ara is currently shipping in mass volume to global customers.
"Marvell pioneered PAM DSP technology, and we continue to lead with advanced SerDes and production-proven 800G platforms," said Xi Wang, senior vice president and general manager of Marvell's Connectivity Business Unit.
The new DSP products are designed to address different use cases in AI infrastructure, with features including improved power efficiency, enhanced network resilience, flexible infrastructure designs, and built-in security for optical links.
Marvell's connectivity portfolio includes DSPs, SerDes, switching, interconnects, drivers, and TIAs, along with the RELIANT interconnect telemetry platform. The company reports millions of high-speed lanes deployed worldwide across hyperscale and cloud deployments.
The four new DSP products will begin sampling to customers in the first quarter of 2026, according to the company's statement.
Marvell will display its connectivity portfolio at OFC 2026, scheduled for March 15-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
