GE Aerospace and Palantir expand AI partnership for military aircraft

March 12, 2026 6:59 AM

GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) and Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: PLTR) announced a multi-year partnership expansion to deploy AI-powered solutions for U.S. Air Force aircraft readiness and GE Aerospace's production operations.

The collaboration initially focused on maintaining the Air Force's T-38 trainer jets and their J85 engines. In early 2024, the companies piloted a sustainment workflow that provided visibility into parts demand and shortages for the aircraft used to train Air Force pilots.

The partnership has expanded beyond the initial pilot program to support GE Aerospace's broader production system, including sustainment, maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations, and new engine production.

GE Aerospace now uses Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform across select supply chain functions, including fulfillment, sourcing, allocation, maintenance, repair, and customer service. The system automates manual tasks while allowing GE Aerospace's workforce to focus on problem-solving activities.

"Meeting today's readiness demands requires both proven propulsion and smarter use of data," said Amy Gowder, president and CEO of Defense and Systems for GE Aerospace. "By integrating data across the enterprise and applying AI to predict demand and identify constraints earlier, our collaboration with Palantir is helping our customers keep more aircraft available."

Mike Gallagher, Head of Defense at Palantir, stated the partnership helps "unify data across the enterprise to keep more aircraft available and more airmen trained."

GE Aerospace operates approximately 50,000 commercial and 30,000 military aircraft engines globally. The company reports that a GE Aerospace engine takes off every two seconds worldwide.

The information is based on a company press release.
