Medline breaks ground on 1.2 million sq ft distribution center in Texas
Medline Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: MDLN) began construction on a 1.2 million square foot distribution center in Midlothian, Texas, the company announced during a groundbreaking event this week.
The facility is scheduled to become fully operational in the second quarter of 2027 and represents the first new distribution center announced by the medical supply company since its initial public offering in December 2025.
The Midlothian center will be the second distribution facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth market, complementing Medline's existing Wilmer location. The company currently operates 45 distribution centers across the United States with more than 26 million square feet of warehouse space.
The new facility will incorporate AutoStore storage and retrieval technology, similar to other large Medline distribution centers. The center will serve healthcare providers including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, physician offices, nursing homes and hospices in the region.
"Our vast network of distribution centers, 80 days of on-hand inventory, advanced technologies and owned fleet of trucks demonstrate our relentless focus on our customers and our drive to meet their evolving and growing needs," said Sean Halligan, executive vice president of Medline operations.
Medline states its distribution network enables next-day delivery to 95% of its customers in the United States. The company, headquartered in Northfield, Illinois, employs more than 45,000 people worldwide and operates in more than 100 countries.
The information is based on a company press release.
