March 10, 2026 2:38 PM

Investing.com -- The United States has not escorted any oil tankers or vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday.

Leavitt addressed reporters after Energy Secretary Chris Wright deleted a post on X earlier in the day. In the deleted post, Wright said the U.S. Navy had escorted an oil tanker through the strait to ensure oil remains flowing to global markets.

When asked about Wright removing the post, Leavitt clarified that the U.S. has not escorted any vessel through the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House also said it has no announcement to make regarding the lifting of energy sanctions.

On Iran operations, the White House said they will end when President Trump determines objectives have been met and Iran is in unconditional surrender.
