Iran ships 2 million barrels of oil through Strait of Hormuz
Investing.com -- A supertanker carrying two million barrels of Iranian oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, according to data from ship tracking services released on Tuesday.
The vessel, named Cuma and flagged in Guyana, is listed on U.S. sanctions and has China marked as its destination, data from Lloyd's List Intelligence and Kpler showed.
This shipment marks the sixth Iranian oil tanker to transit through the strait since February 28. The previous five vessels have already moved at least 11 million barrels of crude oil to Asia during this period, according to estimates from ship tracking data.
In addition to crude oil, Iran has also transported gas and oil product cargoes through the waterway in recent days. The shipments have continued since U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran began on February 28.
