Sonos unveils two new speakers priced at $299 and $189

March 10, 2026 9:30 AM

Sonos Inc. (NASDAQ: SONO) announced two new speakers, the Sonos Play and Era 100 SL, both designed to integrate with the company's existing multi-room audio system. The speakers will be available for pre-order starting March 10, 2026, with general availability on March 31, 2026.

The Sonos Play, priced at $299, features stereo sound and includes both WiFi connectivity for home use and Bluetooth capability for portable listening. The speaker offers 24 hours of battery life and carries an IP67 waterproof rating. It includes a built-in power bank for charging mobile devices and can group with up to three additional Sonos speakers via Bluetooth when away from WiFi networks.

The Era 100 SL, priced at $189, represents a simplified entry point into the Sonos ecosystem. The speaker lacks microphones and offers what the company describes as a streamlined feature set while maintaining compatibility with the broader Sonos system for room expansion and stereo pairing.

Both speakers connect to the company's existing multi-room system, allowing users to group speakers across rooms or create stereo pairs. The devices support over 100 streaming services and work with voice assistants, Spotify Connect, and Apple AirPlay 2.

"We believe a great sound experience shouldn't reset every time you add something new. It should get better," said Tom Conrad, Chief Executive Officer of Sonos, according to the press release.

The speakers feature automatic Trueplay tuning, which adjusts sound output based on room acoustics. Sonos reports that more than 17 million households across 60 countries use its products.
