ADM (NYSE: ADM) announced the appointment of Michael McMurray to its board of directors, effective March 9. McMurray previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of LyondellBasell Industries N.V., a global plastics, chemicals and refining company, for more than five years.

McMurray will serve on ADM's Audit and Sustainability and Technology committees. He brings more than three decades of financial and strategic leadership experience at global industrial companies, according to the company's statement.

"Michael offers deep financial and accounting acumen, a significant international business background, and proven leadership in strategy and M&A," said Juan Luciano, ADM's board chair and CEO.

Prior to his role at LyondellBasell, McMurray held leadership positions at Owens Corning, including CFO, and at Royal Dutch Shell. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Trinity University and an MBA from Tulane University.

McMurray currently serves on the boards of Flowserve Corporation and the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas. ADM describes itself as a global agricultural supply chain manager and processor.
