Roblox launches creator programs targeting older users

March 9, 2026 12:00 PM

Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX) announced two new programs designed to support game creators in developing content for its expanding older user base. The Roblox Incubator and Roblox Jumpstart programs aim to facilitate creation of games across genres including role-playing games, strategy and shooters.

The company reported that 45% of daily active users have completed age verification as of January 31, with 27% of this group identified as over 18. In the United States, the 18-34 age cohort is growing at over 50%, more than double the rate of users under 18, and generates 40% higher monetization according to company data.

The Roblox Incubator operates as a six-month, milestone-driven program for experienced development teams working on game concepts. Participants receive mentorship from Roblox subject matter experts and audience-building support. The Roblox Jumpstart program runs continuously and targets creators new to the platform as well as experienced developers exploring different game types.

"Our vision for Roblox is to be the platform for all ages, and we are calling on ambitious creators with bold ideas to build the next generation of experiences," said Vlad Loktev, Chief Creator Ecosystem Officer at Roblox.

Applications for both programs are now open. The Jumpstart program operates on a rolling application basis, with game pitches beginning at the Game Developers Conference and continuing ongoing.

Roblox has developed new technology features including SLIM (Scalable Lightweight Interactive Models), Texture Streaming, and server authority to support higher-fidelity game development across devices.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
