SailPoint announces AI-powered identity security platform updates
SailPoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAIL) announced enhancements to its AI-powered identity security platform on March 9, 2026. The Austin-based company introduced new capabilities designed to address security challenges in modern IT environments through what it calls an "adaptive identity" approach.
The new features include privilege discovery and classification tools that automatically identify and secure privileged access across enterprises. The platform now offers expanded support for non-human identities, including new connectors for AI agents from Microsoft 365 Co-Pilot, Databricks, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Microsoft Foundry, Salesforce Agentforce, ServiceNow AI Platform, and Snowflake Cortex AI.
SailPoint introduced an agent for its Harbor Pilot suite that enables users to request access through guided conversations. The company also enhanced its Observability & Insights and Data Access Security capabilities, integrating them with the Identity Graph to provide visibility into data access pathways and identity risk detection.
The company plans to release a next-generation Access Certification engine and updated Separation of Duties capabilities in the second half of 2026. These modernization efforts focus on improving performance, scale, and user experience for foundational governance functions.
"The old way of identity governance is simply no longer effective," said Chandra Gnanasambandam, SailPoint EVP of Product and Chief Technology Officer. "We are moving toward a new, AI-powered adaptive approach to provide continuous visibility and real-time governance for all identity types."
SailPoint's adaptive identity framework centers on four areas: real-time governance through continuous automated monitoring, protection of AI and machine identities, dynamic privilege management with Just-in-Time access, and integrated threat management that connects identity context with security operations.
