Ionis announces board changes with two retirements, one addition
Ionis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: IONS) announced changes to its Board of Directors that will take effect June 4, 2026. B. Lynne Parshall and Joseph Wender will retire at the end of their terms, while Peter N. Reikes will rejoin as a director.
Parshall has served as a director since September 2000 and previously held executive positions at Ionis, including chief operating officer from December 2007 through December 2017 and chief financial officer from June 1994 through December 2012. She joined the company in 1991.
Wender has served as a director since January 1994 and has been the lead independent director since 2020. He joined Goldman Sachs & Co. in 1971, became a general partner in 1982, and headed the Financial Institutions Group for over a decade. He has served as a senior consultant to Goldman Sachs since January 2008.
Reikes most recently served as senior strategy advisor with the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health from December 2024 to February 2026. He previously spent over three years as senior advisor to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Before his government roles, he worked as vice chairman in the Investment Banking Division at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company and held senior positions at Cowen and Company and PaineWebber Incorporated. He previously served on Ionis' board from 2018-2021, stepping down when he joined the FDA.

The company stated that both retiring directors are recipients of the Ionis Career Achievement Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the company.
