Klarna expands Apple Pay integration to Denmark, Spain and Sweden

November 18, 2025 10:22 AM

Klarna announced its flexible payment products are now available through Apple Pay in Denmark, Spain and Sweden, with France expected to follow in the coming weeks.

The expansion allows eligible customers in these countries to use Klarna's buy now, pay later services when checking out online, in-app, or in-store through Apple Pay on iPhones and iPads. The service joins existing availability in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Customers can split purchases into three monthly installments or pay up to 30 days later without interest. For higher-value items, longer payment periods are available with interest rates starting from 0%.

"After the fantastic response in the US, UK, and Canada, I'm super excited to bring Klarna on Apple Pay to tens of millions of consumers across Europe," said Sebastian Siemiatkowski, co-founder and CEO of Klarna.

The payment process involves customers selecting Klarna at checkout, choosing "Pay Later" to view available payment options, selecting an installment plan, and completing the transaction through Apple Pay. Klarna applies underwriting measures before approval without impacting customers' credit scores.

Klarna operates as a global digital bank and payments provider with over 111 million active consumers worldwide. The company processes 3 million transactions daily and works with more than 790,000 retailers.

Apple Pay transactions with Klarna maintain the same privacy standards as other Apple Pay purchases, with Apple not retaining transaction information linked to users.
