SolarEdge partners with Schaeffler for EV charging across Europe
SolarEdge Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SEDG) announced a partnership with automotive supplier Schaeffler to deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Schaeffler's European facilities. The agreement supports Schaeffler's plan to install approximately 2,300 charging points by 2030.
The collaboration will integrate SolarEdge's hardware and EV charging software into Schaeffler's infrastructure, enabling employees and fleet drivers to charge vehicles at company locations. The initial deployment begins at Schaeffler's Technology Center parking facility at its headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
The charging solution utilizes SolarEdge's Wevo technology, part of its ONE for C&I energy optimization platform, and includes a custom mobile application for users. The partnership expands an existing relationship between the companies, as SolarEdge solar technology already powers Schaeffler rooftops.
"We are excited to deepen our partnership with Schaeffler," said Naama Ohana, Chief Commercial & Industrial Division at SolarEdge. "Our solar technology has powered Schaeffler rooftops with safe, reliable energy for many years. Now, our Enterprise Service Group is proud to further support Schaeffler's energy transition by delivering EV charging software, services, and hardware."
SolarEdge, based in Milpitas, California, develops smart energy technology including solar inverters, storage systems, EV charging solutions, and grid services. The company's DC-optimized inverter technology is designed to maximize power generation in photovoltaic systems.
