July 31, 2025 7:19 AM

S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI) appointed Bill Eager as president of S&P Global Mobility, effective August 15, 2025, and designated him as chief executive officer of the planned standalone public company following the unit's separation.

Eager, currently CEO of CARFAX, succeeds Edouard Tavernier, who will serve as strategic advisor through September 30, 2025, to support the transition. Eager has worked at CARFAX, part of S&P Global Mobility, for more than 20 years and served as CEO since 2021.

During his tenure as CARFAX CEO, the company achieved double-digit annual revenue growth and expanded its consumer audience to more than 50 million users. Eager previously served as vice president of CARFAX's dealer business for 17 years and led the launch of products including the CARFAX Advantage subscription model and CARFAX Car Listings.

"With more than two decades at CARFAX and deep industry expertise, Bill's knowledge and passion for this business have prepared him to lead Mobility into its next chapter," said Martina L. Cheung, president and CEO of S&P Global.

S&P Global continues to expect completion of the Mobility separation within 12 to 18 months from the announcement date, subject to regulatory requirements and approvals, including final board approval and SEC registration statement effectiveness.

S&P Global Mobility's portfolio includes CARFAX, automotiveMastermind, Polk Automotive Solutions and Market Scan. The company also reported second quarter 2025 results and held a conference call on July 31.
