Walmart (WMT) Raises Quarterly Dividend 9.2% to $0.6225; 1.5% Yield
Walmart (NYSE: WMT) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.6225 per share, or $2.49 annualized. This is a 9.2% increase from the prior dividend of $0.57.
The dividend will be payable on April 1, 2024, to stockholders of record on March 15, 2024, with an ex-dividend date of March 14, 2024.
The annual yield on the dividend is 1.5 percent.
The Board of Directors of Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) approved an annual cash dividend for fiscal year 2025 of $0.83 per share on a post-stock split basis, or $2.49 per share on a pre-split basis. This represents an approximately 9 percent increase from the $2.28 per share paid for the last fiscal year. The fiscal year 2025 annual dividend of $0.83 per share will be paid in four quarterly installments of $0.2075 per share.
“Dividends continue to be a part of our diversified capital returns approach. We're proud to be increasing our annual dividend for the 51st consecutive year. This year’s 9 percent increase is the largest in over a decade, and a sign of our confidence in our growth potential and cash flow,” said John David Rainey, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Walmart Inc.
On January 30, 2024, Walmart announced the board of directors authorized a 3-for-1 forward split of common stock and a proportionate increase in the number of authorized shares. As a result of the stock split, each holder of record of common stock as of the close of business on February 22, 2024 will receive two additional shares of common stock, to be distributed after the close of trading on February 23, 2024.
