Credit Agricole analyst Louis Harreau: "We still expect the ECB to hike by 50bp this afternoon, but we acknowledge that the ECB is unlikely to commit to future hikes... At the same time, we expect the ECB to start a discussion on, or lay the groundwork for, financial stability tools: new longer-term refinancing operations, currency swap lines and possibly more flexibility in purchase programme reinvestments."
