Stocks started Q4 with a bang as the S&P 500 surged 2.6% in part due to falling bond yields. Amid the frenzy, several rumors lit up trading screens across Wall Street today. Below we highlighted some of them:

Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX) gained 2.4% as adjustments to the company’s bylaws and certificate of incorporation spurred further takeover speculation.

Akamai (NASDAQ: AKAM) gained 4.4% as a source told StreetInsider.com that the private equity firm that was sniffing around the tech company in the late summer has made an initial takeover approach and the two sides are in talks.

AXT, Inc. (NASDAQ: AXTI) gained 4.6% as a BWS Financial analyst speculated that the company won inclusion within the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, noting that the display features of the devices being different versus the iPhone 14.
