Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway disclosed a 1,207,844 share position in RH (NYSE: RH) in the third quarter, according to a new filing with the SEC. The fund did not hold a prior stake.

It is unclear if Mr. Buffett himself had anything to do with the decision to buy the stock. Most likely it was one of his deputies.

The new Buffett stake is worth $212 million based on Thursday's closing price of $175.22.

Berkshire is not a stranger to the furniture business as it owns Nebraska Furniture Mart.

Shares of RH rose 7% after-hours Thursday on the news.
