Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has asked suppliers to study the impact of shifting final assembly out of China, according to Dow Jones, citing sources. For certain products, Apple is looking at shifting about a third of total production out of China.

No decision has been made on the shift.

It also asked suppliers to study further cost cuts.
